Recommended way when applying a custom themes in Windows is to use Universal Theme Patcher. It will patch your system files in windows so that you can use a 3rd party or custom themes.

It is a universal theme patcher. Without language limited, Supports all language of windows!1. Can operate in normal mode. Do not need to enter safe mode.
2. Choose the corresponding patcher based on you Windows:
For 32bit(x86): UniversalThemePatcher-x86.exe
For 64bit(amd64): UniversalThemePatcher-x64.exe3. Require administrator rights. Right-click the exe file, select Run as Administrator.
4. XP/2003 only need to patch one file: uxtheme.dll
2008/Vista/Windows 7 6519 need to patch 3 files: uxtheme.dll, themeui.dll, shsvcs.dll
Windows 7 6801 need to patch 3 files: uxtheme.dll, themeui.dll, themeservice.dllSometimes, in x64 Windows, you need to patch 2 copies of files:
using UniversalThemePatcher-x64.exe to patch the 64bit files in windowssystem32;
and using UniversalThemePatcher-x86.exe to patch the 32bit files in windowssyswow64.5. After patch, Restart computer to take effect.
If you use a 3rd party or custom themes in your Windows 7, Vista or XP as your default theme in your everyday use. We highly recommend to use Universal Theme Patcher as this is the most stable way in patching system files, not like our previous post about UXStyle that is not stable and a bit buggy.

Why many people have problems,when installing these UXpatchers,my self as well,after installing this UXpatcher,worked well,but the problem came when windows,sended me to update,windows had to do like 30updates,after that the screen was no longer it was all black?couldent log in,had to send it to repairs?because I had no recovery disc?plus they didn’t include the recovery disc?all in all I see many videos on how to apply these themes,people making these videos,seem to do it well?but then I read all the comments that come with the vidoe,and most of the comments are people that followed the steps,but end up with crashed computers,viruses,ECT…how can one know if a patcher is safe?to install..I’m not talking about applying the right patcher for your system?cuz iv doen that and still had a break down?i have a windows8 64 bit?and used the right patcher?but like I said,crashed my computer?last computer end up with a virus?so far I broke 2-3 laptop do to these patchers and themes,useing?what I don’t understand is how the people on YouTube are able to use these patches,themes with out any giving problems?and they leave the links for people to use these patchers and themes?but like I said end up with viruses,and break downs?do you have any idea why this happens?and could you give me useful advice?on hoe to pervent problems,and enjoy applying 3rd party themes?thank you,and would Appriciate a reply on my concern✌
