  18. I did not like IDM features as below :
    1) cannot preview incomplete download.
    2) the pop up download status annoying
    3) automatically grab download link and a problem for files not supported. ( this issue seem to have been fixed in the latest release. )

    I only use the trial version so far. May be the full version has more complete features.
    I like IDM as follow :
    1) Superb speed
    2) download latter option
    3) integrated well with almost all file hoster premium

    I like to win this because I am currently using Jdownloader to manage my download, and it is slow. I need a multi-thread downloader like IDM to facilitate my download from file hoster.

      and for IDM issues you’ve mentioned;
      1. Why do you want to preview incomplete downloads?
      2. Pop-Up download status doesnt appears with me… (you’ll just have to configure it from the options)

      1. 1)  Since my IDM trial already expired and I do not have a key for IDM, I am currently using Orbit. I can play the incomplete files before download completed with Orbit. This is important because I do want to make sure the file is ok ( especially .rar file which sometimes password protected ) or in good quality, or even preview the movie, rather than having to completely download a movie ( normally large file for good quality ) and end up not a good one. Also, if I download a file form file hoster as free user via VPN, which normally rather poor in stability and connectivity, the connection will break and I cannot resume. If I cannot at least preview some of my downloads,that would be very frustrating. The files downloaded with IDM need to reconstruct and therefore useless if downloads failed or interrupted.

        2) Pop-up here means every time I click download, the download status small window appeared right in front of my monitor. Just imagine if there are tens of them…….while in orbit, the silent mode is very good. I click download and the files start downloading without any further prompting or pop up.

        I hope this clear my point.

        Regardless of the disadvantages of IDM, still, I need IDM because Orbit may not support all file hosters at the moment.

          No.2 You can set IDM to minimize automatically when downloading, not popping-up on your screen and set to taskbar or system tray.
          I am using Show Minimized when download at IDM and you set it via options in download tab;

  31. I download a lot of files and curently I use FlashGet freeware Download. But Internet Download Manager is better, maybe the world’s best download manager.   37. wow nice giveaway……count me in…… m currently using FDM………BUT idm is better then fdm in many ways,ease of use,extreme download speed,The one feature which you may not find in other download managers is
    its integration with various browsers. By integration , I mean its
    ability to catch downloads from the browser…….etc……..so i would really to win a license of IDM………I dont have facebook(i deleted my FB PROFILE 5 DAYS AGO) LOL…….I ONLY have twitter and g+……but my G+ IS not ready yet……..wl only post twitter status………. :)

    ps:-i need idm badly coz, m on dial up :(……..(downloads broke every now then)so need to resume the download everytime……..and thatz the bottom line!

        broadband, m using dial up coz i cant afford broadband or even 3g(bit
        pricey in our locality)……m unemployed………i don’t have
        job…….no source of income………u know what even i hate using dial
        up…….but i can’t do anything about it……..GOD SAVE ME FROM THE
        DISASTER…….lmao!:)
